Breaking Bread is a fun event designed to bring local police forces and Black and Brown community members* together in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere for good times and a great meal. At Breaking Bread, we get to know one another meaningfully and personally to build trust, understanding, and to strengthen the community. And we have 1 rule: we leave agendas, partisan politics, and preconceptions at the door.

The idea for Breaking Bread came about shortly after George Floyd's death. Although 3 years have passed, we still have a lot of work to do as a society to achieve harmony - and the first step is to make a meaningful difference in our own backyard. We can tackle the challenging conversations much better once we've had the easy ones! Breaking Bread offers the perfect environment to start those easy conversations.

The inaugural Breaking Bread event happened in Cheltenham, PA on June 28, 2022, and we're still going strong. We are so honored to have started this journey here in the community we love - and our goal is to keep moving forward and spreading the joy by bringing Breaking Bread to communities across Pennsylvania, and eventually our great Nation. ​
